APPEARANCE AND
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES.
The heartwood is initially pale pink brown. It darkens with age to a more golden to medium brown colour. The pale yellowish sapwood is clearly demarcated. Bosse can be machined quite well. Surface treatment also poses no problem. The texture is medium to fine, with a good natural lustre. Silica is present in this wood, causing cutting edges to blunt at an increased rate.
APPLICATION
AREAS.
Bosse wood is particularly versatile. It is ideally suited for the production of veneer, furniture, cabinetry, inlays and flooring, but also for boat building and turned objects.
