WE ARE

INTERBOIS
CAMEROUN

The love of wood has a long tradition in our family-owned company. The Interbois Cameroun SARL sawmill was founded in 1988 by Mathieu Tzoumpe and started out as a small sawn timber trading company in Douala. In 1992, we expanded our core business to include the distribution of round timber of regional origin and became the national market leader.

WE
ARE A

FAMILY
BUSINESS.

WE EXPORT ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Willy Tzoumpe took over the business from his father in 2001. At that time, Interbois Cameroun processed about 7,000 m³ of round timber a year. But this low sales volume was not sufficient for the company to remain competitive in a growing market. Willy Tzoumpe therefore decided to expand production and concentrated his strategic efforts on acquiring new customers. These realignment measures bore fruit within a short period of time. Since then, Interbois has been supplying customers from all over the world with the highest-quality tropical timber from Cameroon – always in the best quality and strictly in accordance with its customers’ wishes.

WE LET

THE FOREST
GROW HIGH.

SUSTAINABLE FOREST MANAGEMENT ONLY.

The second generation at Interbois Cameroun is now working with the raw material wood. We are inspired by the naturalness and environmental friendliness of wood. This is why we feel committed to managing our forests responsibly and source our quality wood exclusively from legally authorised forest areas in Cameroon. We guarantee our customers that all of our timber meets the requirements of the Forest Law Enforcement, Governments and Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan. This ensures that we are making a valuable contribution to sustainability and to combating illegal logging. We also attach great importance to ensuring that we utilise the entire tree trunk. Waste wood is processed into wood chips or firewood, and we therefore also operate as an energy supplier. Vive la forêt.
